Posted by K. Shahzad in Basic Needs, National on January 11, 2010
Its January 10th 2010 and we are living into the age when government had promised many times that we will have all our electricity shortages met. Many times in past being not able to fulfill their promises of meting electricity needs in Dec 2008 and according to next promise June 2009, no w finally once again ruling party unable to met the third one which stated the discontinuation of load-shedding from Dec 2009 for forever.
Not only this but just after Government’s dead line for itself to meat all energy challenges country is again pushed into the severe crises of its time. We are now again face the short fall of more than 4000 megawatts. This shortfall causing the load shedding of nine to seventeen hours in different areas of the country.
Not to forget that the on going season is low power consumption season, power consumption even goes too much high in summer as compared to this season. When they are not able to fulfill the energy needs of nation in this season what will they do in summer. The circumstances just show that things not working out here, ruling party just seem making and broking their own promises on the issues and was not able to address issues on ground.
According to analysts energy projects being worked on will not able to fulfill the nation’s energy needs even in 2011 – 2012. Hope administration goes with a fresh emergency planning on the issue and tries to fulfill the energy needs of nation.

Shelling by India and Pakistan against each other at wagah last night
Posted by K. Shahzad in Happenings, International, National on January 10, 2010
Pakistani and Indian forces exchanged fire near midnight last night at Wagah border. Four blasts were first heard near 11:30PM on Indian side of border first. Indian forces didn’t bother to do any investigation on it and BSF opened fire for across the border to the Pakistani territory.
Firing from Indian forces was first light weapons but soon they shifted to the mortar shells, on this side of border Rangers returned the fire in response to keep the balance. This firing continued till 2:00am in the night and soon afterwords Rangers called the meeting with BSF to exchange thoughts.
It was told that initially firing was not from Pakistan side of border and blast may have different causes. Both sides agreed on a point and BSF agreed to do more investigations on the causes of the blasts.
Its not first time, few months ago same kind of incident caused both nations to exchange fire on each other.
India being a responsible state should investigate on matters before blindly opening fire on such situations. They would have properly investigated and met the situation according to its demand. Considering the fact about previous revelries between both nations and both nations being the nuclear capable, a small misunderstanding can be deadliest for people on both sides and the whole south Asian region.
Paypal’s availability in Pakistan
Posted by K. Shahzad in Economy, Finance, National on January 9, 2010
Paypal is an online merchant, an e-commerce network help people in paying each other online and withdraw money to their bank accounts. It is very easy to use and can be easily integrated with websites and also can be used by professional. Now this network is most widely used in the world and no other even come closer.
Problem is Paypal still need to list Pakistan in the list of countries who can use this service. Pakistanis now suffering much from it. For IT services online most people like to pay professionals via paypal but due to they didn”t contracted with Government of Pakistan and also Government of Pakistan done no effort in this regard Pakistan is missing lots of potential money inflow. PayPal accepts accounts from lots of less developed countries than Pakistan, even India got able to get the enlisted on the accepted countries on PayPal but our government or finance ministry have not even thought of it.
People who are suffering most are the IT professionals, Marketing firms, e-commerce businesses, online service providers like hosting companies, website and blogs owners etc. If Government do something about that it would be very much good in favor of people of Pakistan, on other hand PayPal concerned must also think about it, as they are loosing much of revenue by not listing Pakistan.
Moneybookers.com is also an alternative, but they are not too big as paypal also used very much less than them. But if moneybookers.com can do that, why don’t PayPal. An effort has to be made in this regard by concerned authorities. If Indians can use this service than we also need to get on the list, also it is much in interest of our development.
Hope my this post reaches to some authorities and makes much of difference. Also hope that things get much better here in Pakistan too.
