Govt of Pakistan have announced new prices of Petrol, diesel and other petroleum products in Pakistan. The prices of petrol and diesel have been reduced to give the relief to people. Also, as elections are near, so in these days, it is in favour of govt to decrease the prices of petroleum products to the maximum extent possible. IMF agrees to lend Pakistan $3 billion in a staff level agreement

Pakistan have reached an understanding with International Monetary Fund (IMF) in a staff level agreement. In the agreement it have been agreed that IMF will lend Pakistan with the remaining $3 billion USD in three upcoming installments. This is part of IMF bailout plan and related agreement which was reached in 2019. IMF have already payed Pakistan $6 billion USD, however, disbursement of remaining $3 billion were delayed due to disagreement between IMF and Govt of Pakistan on certain terms of the bailout plan. Chaudhry Pervez Elahi to be produced in a Lahore Court today

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was arrested few days back on corruption charges. He was earlier produced in courts in Gujranwala. However, the courts had immediately freed him, as there were no proper evidence against him. But as soon as he got freed, he was again arrested by the anti corruption officials in a case regarding fake appointments. He is brought to Lahore this time and will be presented in the court of Magistrate today. Officials have been trying to get physical remand of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi earlier, however, that had not been possible. Probably, same will be attempted today. Petroleum Prices announced for first fortnight of June 2023

Pakistani govt reviews and announces new prices of regulated petroleum products every fifteen days. Once on start of month and once in the mid of each month. These regulated petroleum products are Petrol, Light Diesel Oil, High Speed Diesel and Kerosene oil. As Usual, on start of June 2023, Govt of Pakistan have announced the new petroleum prices.
