Multan Sultans Beat Islamabad United in a PSL 8 match

Pakistan’s own cricket league, Pakistan Super League (PSL) is underway these days and the season of this league for 2023 is the 8th. Recently the Match 7 of the PSL 8 is played between Islamabad United and the Multan Sultan. It was another very exciting, full of action contest where Multan Sultans dominated the game.

Islamabad United won the toss and elected to field first. So, as the Multan Sultans started batting, their first wicket was lost only on 4 runs. This was the wicket of Shan Masood, he only scored 3 runs. But the next two batsmen, Muhammad Rizwan and Rilee Rossouw covered up well. The next wicket fell when the total score of Multan Sultans was 95. It was Rilee Rossouw who got out. But soon Muhammad Rizwan also got out when team score reached 97. Rilee Rossouw scored total 36 runs while the Muhammad Rizwan scored 50 runs.

Next batter David Miller scored 52 runs on just 25 balls with the help of 3 Fours and 4 sixes. Kieron Pollard scored 32 and he remained not out. Also on other end Khushdil Shah was not out at 3 runs when the innings of Multan Sultans got over. Overall Multan Sultans scored 190 runs in their designated 20 overs and given a very respectable target of 191 runs to Islamabad United to win.

From Islamabad United side, Rumman Raees, Muhammad Wasim, Shadab Khan and Tom Curran, all of them took one wicket each. Faheem Ashraf and Abrar Ahmed did not took any wickets, however, they given less than 6 runs per over, overall.

From Islamabad United batting side, Rassie van der Dussen scored 49 runs, Colin Munro scored 31, Hassan Nawaz Scored 21 and everyone else scored lower than these. The whole team of Islamabad United got out after scoring just 138 runs in 17.5 overs, hence they lost the match by 52 runs.

Abbas Afridi from Multan Sultans was awarded the man of the match trophy and award for his outstanding bowling figures of 4 wickets by giving just 22 runs in his 4 overs.

From Multan Sultans bowling side, Abbas Afridi took 4 wickets while Muhammad Ilyas, Ihsanullah and Usama Mir took 2 wickets each. Khushdil Shah and Carlos Brathwaite also bowled few overs each however they have not been able to take any wickets.
