Pakistan squad announced for test cricket series against New Zealand

Pakistan is going to play a two test match series against New Zealand starting from Dec 26, 2022. Team New Zealand will be on tour to Pakistan for two test matches and three ODIs. First test match will be played from Dec 26, 2022 in National Stadium Karachi.

PCB have recently announced the Pakistan Squad for two test match series against New Zealand. Following sixteen Pakistani players have been included in team for test matches against New Zealand.

Babar Azam (Captain), Saud Shakeel, Nauman Ali, Imam ul Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Abrar Ahmed, Abdullah Shafique, Sarfraz Ahmed, Zahid Mehmood, Kamran Ghulam, Muhammad Wasim Jr, Hasan Ali, Muhammad Rizwan, Shan Masood, Naseem Shah, Muhammad Nawaz

Hasan Ali returns to the Squad, he was dropped in England series. Also Kamran Ghulam is added to the squad for the New Zealand series. Azhar Ali, Muhammad Ali and Faheem Ashraf will be missing from this series against New Zealand. As the bowler Muhammad Ali and all rounder Faheem Ashraf haven been dropped from the squad. Azhar Ali have took the retirement from test cricket, so he is missing from New Zealand squad for that reason.

Pakistan have recently lost a test series against England 3-0. This was also a home series for Pakistan but they were unable to take home fields advantage. In first two matches, played at Rawalpindi and Multan, it was close fight between Pakistan and England cricket teams, however, third one England won very comfortably.

Hope team Pakistan does not repeat the mistakes they did against England in recent three match test series. Hope they will analyse to identify the areas of their weaknesses and then work to strengthen them.

As we have already mentioned, first test match will played at Karachi, however second test match of two test match series will be played in Multan. Afterwards, New Zealand will also be available to play three ODIs against Pakistan, all of these ODIs will be played back in Karachi in National Stadium.
