First ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand, Afridi struck again

Shahid Afridi hitting six At the start of Match Pakistan lost two early wickets without runs but soon after Shahid Afridi and Kamran Akmal took the charge and taken the score to 101 in just first 15 overs. Overall Afridi scored 70 runs on 50 deliveries and Kamran Akmal remained not out and scored 67 runs out of 43 deliveries.  Khalid Latif scored 64 from 112 balls, this player had replaced shoib Malik in this match and this was his second match.

Akmal’s inning include five boundaries and four valuable sixes. This aggressive style of Playing from Afridi and Akmal make Pakistan to set the target of 287 for the New Zealand. Pakistan lost nine wickets overall.

New Zealand did not been able to chase the set target. Aaron Redmond was the top-scorer from the New Zealand  side who scored just 52 runs in his innings. On other side Afridi took 2 wickets as well while bowling out New Zealand.

Overall team work from Pakistan Cricket Team came with a convincing victory for them. They restricted New Zealand team and not allowed them to score big. This way Pakistan won convincingly by 138 runs.

ICC Champions Trophy 2009The final match of Cricket ICC Champions Trophy 2009 is being played tomorrow, Monday, 5 Oct, 2009 between the New Zealand and Australia.

Saturday 3rd Oct, 09 New Zealand played the second semi-final of the championship and won it by 5 wickets making its way to the finals. On other hand back on Friday Australia won the first semi-final of champions trophy against England and got through to the final. Now as the finals are between New Zealand and Australia tomorrow Australia is favorite to win this match but well in game of cricket you never know, expecting a good fight between both teams, a good final match.

ICC Champions trophy New Zealand wins semi-final against Pakistan

New Zealand CricketOn Saturday the second semifinal of ICC Champions trophy was held between Pakistan and New Zealand and New Zealand won this by five wickets and got through to the finals. This was in fact the upset of the tournament because Pakistan team was favorite to win the second semi-final in opinion of many. But good batting from New Zealand got them through.

Pakistan was able to score 233 runs over the 50 overs. Pakistan batting side lost much because of losing the first four wickets too early. On one time Pakistan cricket team was struggling at 183 for 7 wickets but two bowlers Tanveer and and Saeed Ajmal added the 35 valuable runs to the total for just 34 deliveries.

But finally an overall very good batting performance from the New Zealand team took Pakistan out of the tournament, getting themselves through to the finals. New Zealand was able to achieve the target in just under the 48 overs with the loss of just 5 wickets.

Pakistan Wins ICC champions trophy match against West Indies

Pakistan CricketWest Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. But this decision didn’t proved to be lucky for them and soon their all team was out by just scoring 133 runs. Thanks to Pakistani fast bowlers, fast bowlers Muhammad Aamir and Omer Gul taken 6 wickets collectively. Readers must recall that despite the leading players ended their boycott over contractual deputes last month, still the team was fully unable to do well in batting.

Also in fielding they were not very well and on other hand the 58 runs partnership between Umar Akmal and Shahid Afridi was enough to pave the teams way to convincing victory. Umar Akmal himself scored 41 runs which include six fours.  This way Pakistan cricket team achieved the total in just under 31 overs.

First match of Pakistan in ICC champions trophy proved to be well for Pakistan Cricket team and it will give confidence to them to do good in upcoming matches.

PCB denies attending the World Cup organizing committee meeting

Pakistan CricketPakistan cricket board have denied to take part in any organizing committee meeting for Cricket World Cup 2o11. One of such meetings is scheduled for tomorrow in Mumbai, India. Pakistan Cricket Board was invited to that meeting earlier and PCB agreed to take part in this. But they have now declined to take part in this and any such meetings.

Also PCB added that as Pakistan is no more hosting the cricket world cup 2011 so they must not be invited to any kind of Organizing Committee meetings, in fact remove them from the organizing committee.

As previously the Cricket world cup 2011 was to be hosted by Pakistan but considering the security conditions at the country the world cup was shifted to the co-hosts India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
