It is again the time when all the car manufacturers of Pakistan are increasing their car prices. This increase is due to the costs of these manufacturers have increased due to import curbs as well as the currency devaluation. Recently honda Pakistan have increased their car prices, the details of old prices, new prices and the difference between the old and the new prices is as follows.

Pakistan’s auto manufacturers normally import Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits of their vehicles from abroad and just put it together to manufacture those vehicles. Same is the reason, every time when the local currency is under pressure and its value goes down, as a result the cost of these auto manufacturers goes up and that is ultimately put on the consumers.
Also recently auto manufacturers of Pakistan have been going through the multiple plant shutdowns, as they were not able to import CKD kits due to the restrictions imposed by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on imports in terms of opening Letter of Credits (LCs) for import. This is also impacted and increased the costs of auto manufacturers so that cost will also be transferred to the end consumer. One such example of plant closure was of plant closure of Pak Suzuki, which was closed for the third week, in last week.
