Many local and international sites and services are facing downtime due to an outage in Cloudflare network. According to them they are already aware of the issue and working to resolve.
International services like Canva and millions more got affected. In Pakistan as well sites like dawn.com, propakistani.pk and thousands more got affected. It is a developing story, we will keep updating this article and will provide more updates.
Cloudflare is a global infrastructure company which helps keep sites and services, fast, safe and secure. It is trusted by millions of other sites and services. It is used as defense against cyber attacks on sites, its defense of many site again distributed Danial of Service (DDos) attacks. It also provides, caching and mechanism to keep sites up and working when they face too much traffic. However, it is an irony that when it gone down today, it took huge number of sites and services down with it.
Sites mentioned above were just few examples, cloudflare is trusted by millions if not billions. Like the rest of world is very popular with Pakistani sites and services.
UPDATE: As cloudflare is working on the issue to resolve it, many services have started to appear back online. Response from the cloudflare team was quick and many services are back up in matter of minutes.
UPDATE (12:37 UTC): Cloudflare teams are still working on issue and making sure to work for full recovery. Meanwhile, according to them some services may still be facing issues. Following is recent update from them.
We are seeing services recover, but customers may continue to observe higher-than-normal error rates as we continue remediation efforts.
According to their further update, there support service provider is also facing problems. Customers may be facing issues seeing the support cases etc.
