Presidency and Supreme court differences continue, Latest on appointment of senior Judges

President house, Islamabad

There are few vacant positions to be filled in few superior courts of Pakistan. Different choice are being thought to put in the vacant positions. Lately President Zardari came in with his choices of judges to put in the vacant positions and these choices included Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif for supreme court from his current designation of chief justice Lahore High court, also the appointment of Justice Mian Saqib Nisar as acting chief justice for Lahore high court.

But these last orders from Zardari didn’t lasted more than few hours and the Chief Justice Iftikhar constituted a three people bench. Soon followed the decision from this bench tell the orders by presidency as unconstitutional and the decision suspended the orders.

Despite the fact that its the elected government but the things are not changed much, in this so called democratic age the government still seems to be dictating things to entities like Judiciary which must independent without any doubt.

Why these differences are continuing to grow, answer is that every one is not doing their own business and trying to involve the jobs of each other for just personal gains. Things will just be much better the other way.

Chief Justice of Pakistan urges other institutions to recognize their role in providing justice

He said that its the wrong assumption that only the courts are responsible for providing the justice to people. Chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chudhary said on Tuesday that three institutions which are legislature, executive and judiciary can only provide justice if they are working together towards same goal. He added the good governance only comes into existence when the above mentioned three institutions are dedicated to provide justice to the people and collaborating with each other perfectly.

He was quite right in what he said, the decisions only from the judiciary does not matter unless they are not properly followed by the other institutions. Also providing justice is not the responsibility of judiciary, the role of other institutions is evident.

Unfortunately in our country it is not the case, if we see what was happening over last few months, the situation was that several decisions from judiciary were coming but the government seem against it, specially the decision related to petroleum product prices which resulted in clash between the government and the judiciary.

Also the most recent corruption charges by the supreme court, people were concerned about either the NAB will do its part up to the required level and will act upon unbiasedly towards their role specially because of many suspects sitting in the countries governance.

Also another concern is that either the decisions from the courts are also truly unbiased or not. The point is every institution have to work together without being biased to any person or entity while providing the justice to the people of Pakistan.

Petroleum product sales on halt, prices hit the top

Prices hit the top, may not be technically correct because you can expect more from current administration but one thing for sure, this is gonna be hurting the economy much more. Also unlike the last the last government which was giving subsidy this one is earning lots of bucks per gallon. If one is sure that the money is going into the national reserves and being used correctly this sounds much fair. But there is no info ever released where this all money going. Is it being used for the betterment of people of Pakistan.

The news here is that the petroleum prices increased, petrol price increased Rs. 6.10 per litter similarly prices of other products also increased similarly. Diesel which used to be half of petrol or even less reached on equal levels. Also the CNG load management plan is in effect which also makes the things worse.

The petroleum product sales hit the halt across the country when the petrol pumps stop selling in protest to the increased price. CNG already closed in some cities, people facing the real difficulties.

When the prices of fuel increase, the prices of each and every thing increases because of the increase in transportation costs, this price hike was totally unnecessary considering the fact that the government still getting profit on current price. The reasons told are the degradation in rupee value, again who is responsible for that? Certainly the current administration.

Peace keepers shaken the peace in Quetta

When it comes to police department, the most honest people are meant to be in this department. You not only have to stop crime as part of your duty but you also need have fully aware of, or in fact have the moral and ethical values. Unfortunately the people of Pakistan in most areas lack their trust in the local police mainly because the culprits or bad fishes in the department who get able to make lots of extra money by illegal means, e.g. helping in the illegal acts etc. They are the people who subsequently jolt the normal public’s trust in the whole department.

Leaving the other things a side now few day back Quetta police seen in another kind of form. They were apparently out in form of a rally to demand the increase in their salaries. They rally would have been peaceful but that was not the case, they were seen burning the tyres, throwing stones at glasses of buildings and beating the hell out of people.

Their demands were very much legitimate but the way to demand was highly disgusting specially for police department which hold the responsibility for the countries peace. This weird display also shown that before are after appointing the people to police, in their training no attention is payed towards the moral and ethical training of the recruits.

Other reason which is also cause of keeping the more deserved people away from joining Pakistan police is the very low salaries of Pakistan police individuals. This low wage not only restrict lots from choosing this profession but also is cause of the police individuals adopting illegal ways to fulfill their needs.

In some cases they are even not payed to keep up for the costs of fuels of the vehicles used on work and costs of stationary used at work. This is again the case of mismanagement by current and few previous political parities who have been in the power.

Specifically the Quetta police was demanding the appraisal in their salaries according to the police salaries in other three provinces, according to them in their they were being payed half of what the people getting in other provinces of Pakistan. But still this does not give them license to wonder on roads as bullies and destroy the peace in the city.

So whats required here is appraisal of salaries of these individuals across the country to more acceptable level, increased checks and balances, more effective way of recruiting them, their ethical and moral training by telling the true essence of the greatness of their job if they do it the right way. Only capable individuals in power who really have interest in the wishes of the people of Pakistan who really love this country and want to see it developing everyday will be able to this other the a bag full of selfish and self centered politicians. May Allah bless Pakistan.

Water flow in rivers and water storage down to minimal, who is responsible

Indus River PakistanWhen compared to the last year the water flows in the rivers this year are very much about more than 34% less. Also storage overall is about from 32% to 40% of total capacity. Indus River System Authority (ISRA) is planning a meeting to revise the water management plan for this year and this meeting will held on 1st Feb, 10.

The water flows in four major rivers declined from 10,000 to 37,000 cusecs, which is huge decline. Also the decline in the Mangla and Terbela dams is 34% less than the next year.

Country is now facing huge water shortage, this shortage is now most likely to effect the agricultural activity around the country.

The thing here to think is untill when we will be depending on Mangla and Terbela dams. Have government thought something about starting the new water storage projects. Now its very much necessary because India is now in implementation phase of many dam on same rivers which take water to Pakistan. So naturally in future we will have to make sure that none of water which come in go to the sea but its stored in many water reserves.

If situation stays the way it is and more water management projects are not thought of, it would definitely be more hostile food commodities and power shortage in the country.

There are lots of things which need to be planned from now to survive after 10 years of time, nearly no planning for water, gas or power is going on. Looking at the on going increase and expected increase in demand of these all, the revolutionary development project are now due. God bless this country with a capable leadership which manages every thing as required.
