Five Real Good Budget Phones You can Get Under 15 to 20 Thousand Rupees in 2018

Published on

Recently, I was doing some market research for someone who wanted to buy to phone and had budget of about 15 to 20 thousand rupees. So during my research I came across some real good devices, specially five options attracted me the most. They have about same specs, with some little variations. Also, they fall in same 15 to 20 thousand rupees category.

First things first, before going in to details, according to my experience for this range of 15 to 20 thousand, Huawei is the brand which was offering best phones. There are many other Chinese brands, which I think are low end and there are other fancier ones which have less to offer in our budget. Plus, Huawei had literally the best features in the budget and I know from multiple experiences that their devices are durable and can take lot of beating without any major problems.

One important thing to mention here is, this post is NOT at all the promotional post by Huawei on my blog, its that in budget mentioned above, Huawei seem as best option to me, if you have other better or similar options, do feel free to mention in the comments section of this post below.

So lets just dive in to details of these devices, plus following 5 devices are just mentions from 1 to 5, it not their ranking, they have similar features and they are all good.

1. Huawei Y6 Prime 2018

This was really good device in budget, actually, this was the one we actually ended up purchasing, but this does NOT mean that its way better than others, all of them have more or less of same features. It had following noticeable features

  • Screen Size: 5.7 Inches
  • 16 GB Storage / 2 GB RAM
  • Screen Resolution: 720p
  • Price: About Rs. 18000 mentioned online but available from Rs. 16,500 to 18000 on shops.
  • Latest Android Software
  • Battery: 3000 mAh

2. Huawei Y6 Pro

Y6 Pro is also really good device just like the others in list. One difference is the screen size is bit smaller than other devices, which is 5 inches. But still 5 Inches is huge, so it should not be deal breaker. One other difference specially from Y6 Prime 2018 and Y7 Prime 2018 is that Huawei Y6 Pro was released back in 2015 and it have slightly older version of Android, but yes updates do come. Another huge advantage over others phones is huge 4000 mAh battery, which is bound to last longer than batteries of most smart phones available right now.

Phone’s main specifications are as follows.

  • Screen Size: 5 Inches
  • 16 GB Storage / 2 GB RAM
  • Screen Resolution: 720p
  • Price: About Rs. 17000 mentioned online but available from Rs. 16,500 to 17000 on shops.
  • Upgradable to Latest Android Software
  • Battery: 4000 mAh

3. Huawei Y6II

Again a bit older phone but the specs are up to the mark. Screen size is pretty huge 5.5 inches, one difference though is screen is standard aspect ratio of 16:9, wider but less taller than latest phones. But that should not be a problem, we are more used to such screens, they actually look bigger than new phone screens, which are more taller but less in width. Battery is another strength of this Phone, as it has got 3100 mAh, which is pretty good.

  • Screen Size: 5.5 Inches
  • 16 GB Storage / 2 GB RAM
  • Screen Resolution: 720p
  • Price: About Rs. 19000 mentioned online but available from Rs. 17,200 to 18500 on shops.
  • Latest Android Software
  • Battery 3100 mAh

4. Huawei Y7 Prime 2018

Another big screen phone. By first seeing the 6 inches, I thought against this phone and thought screen will be too huge to handle. But that is not the case. Actually this phone, also like Huawei Y6 Prime 2018, have got different aspect ratio screen. I mean, screens are taller but less in width, due to this phone screen does not look too big. Another advantage is 32 GB storage and 3GB RAM unlike all other phones in list. If would not have been confused about screen size, as mentioned above, I would have been ended up buying this phone instead. So if you can spare couple of extra thousands, this is best option in the list.

  • Screen Size: 6 Inches
  • 32 GB Storage / 3 GB RAM
  • Screen Resolution: 720p
  • Price: About Rs. 20000 mentioned online but available from Rs. 18,800 to 20000 on shops.
  • Latest Android Software
  • Battery: 3000 mAh

5. Huawei Y7 Prime

This phone is again older than latest Y7 prime but bit expensive. And it is expensive for a reason, which is, it have got beast of a battery, which is huge. It have got 4000 mAh battery, battery this big is rare in smart phones right now. It is guaranteed to last much more than average smart phone.Even Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 have 3000 mAh battery.

Other than that specs are about the same with screen having old aspect ratio, bit smaller but having better pixel density, as it is Full HD. So only there are two reasons to spend more on this phone, than 2018 model, first is 25% bigger battery and better screen resolution. But that does not mean Y7 Prime 2018 have smaller batter, I will still preffer 2018 model of this phone. But if you are person who wants more juice in one charge and get less options to charge, must definitely go for it.

  • Screen Size: 5.5 Inches
  • 32 GB Storage / 3 GB RAM
  • Screen Resolution: 1080p
  • Price: About Rs. 23000 mentioned online but available from Rs. 20000 to 22500 on shops.
  • Android 7.0 Which is Pretty Decent
  • Battery:4000 mAh

This is all about the best phones in 15000 to 20000 Pakistani Rupees. However, if you want to go even lower, you have options of Huawei Y5 Prime and Huawei Y5 Prime 2018, these will be even cheaper.

Again, this is NOT a promoted post for Huawei, only reason to only include Huawei phones was, in this range only huawei phones are respectable. Never think of an iPhone in this range, until and unless you are getting some real old and used phone. Samsungs are all costly mostly and there could be very few in this range, still i am not sure this will have all of these features. SONYs and LGs are all good with their top notch phones but again have less to offer in this range.

Than there is huge array of Chinese phones available in this range, i will tell you to stay away from all of those. They claim lots of features, but when it comes to performance and durability, they are simply worth less. And all those feature may even not work. But Huawei phones on other end are much more durable, keep throwing them around and you will have less damage and will even be repaired in less price. They seem to me like NOKIA phones of old times, super durable and reliable and yet less costly.

Now what I said in last two Paras are my personal view, someone may turn up with some real good phone from any other manufacturer, in this current range. So if you have any other choice which you think is better or similar to these in this current range, feel free to mention it in comments below. And if it is real good, i may add it to article with your name. Of course, this is not end of world, there could be many other phones in this range.

We will make more of such lists for other budget ranges, do go to side bar and like/follow our

If you had a phone that is stolen by someone or its lost and you want to report it so it gets blocked on all GSM Networks in Pakistan, use the following method.

Step 1. Get the Information together

Following are number of things you will need to get your phone blocked.

Use any of these choices above to complain and you will be guided further if you need to do anything else. After the process is completed the phone will be blocked so that the thief can’t use or sell it.
