Roads and bridges network at faizabad Islamabad
Posted by K. Shahzad in Inside Story, Pictures on January 26th, 2010
Above is the satellite view of the bridges and roads in Faizabad area of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. It actually manages huge traffic in great manner. I think its the only one of its kind in Pakistan or at least in Rawalpindi Islamabad.
The point is that on more areas such plans must be thought of and executed. We all know many places which are always congested with loads of traffic and passing those places is a misery. So such plans may thought for those places as well. Traffic on roads will no keep increasing so thinking in advance is a better strategy.

These photos were taken on a Road inside Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Sunset and cloud shades are great but things would have much better in absence of these trucks.
Picture shots from Jinnah Avenue, Blue area, Islamabad

Few pictures here, good thing about them is they are bad. What? Yes, taken in highly non ideal conditions, e.g. taken while moving on speeds around 70-80, three taken on dark times while using the sports mode to prevent the moving effect which itself incorporates darkness with less details, finally phone’s digital cam and as normally digital cams are at their worst while used in darkness. Anyways, using some photoshop enhancements few came out kinna good.
Not sure why posting here but lets have a look, but looking at the other half full of the glass they are not bad at all.

Jinnah Avenue sun set, clouds and lights, its beautiful

Clouds, lights, sunset and buildings, Jinnah Avenue, Blue Area, Islamabad

Look at overall color effect caused by clouds, senset and lights, Jinnah Avenue

Only reason to include this picture is the flying bird caught in it, Jinnah Avenue

The dark age continues, Govt still says, lights ahead

In 2008 first time the ruling party had claimed that the load shedding will be taken away from the people of Pakistan once and for all on 31st Dec, 2008. But they didn’t make it, in fact they were not able to bring any improvement. The things were better before, as compared to their rule.

Soon after the ruling party changed their statements, probably they would have checked and planned on back-end, they came up saying the issue of power shortage will be resolved till the June 2009 and the people would have to bare with them. This time this seem to bit realistic and people thought, ok believe them.
But again, as history repeats itself, ruling party was unable to fulfill the promise this time again. But you know what, after letting them down about two times only on this issue our brave leaders came up again with a third promise to cope with power shortage till end of 2009. Actually, according to them it was 31st Dec, 09.
Now its already mid October and ruling party is left with just 2 and half months to fulfill their promise but people of this country observing the load shedding of 6-8 hours in all major cities and even more in the rural areas. Now this thing requires a bigger imagination about how government is going to fulfill their promise in just two and half months.
Other nations have built the space stations and we are not getting able to cope with the basic problems like electricity shortage on national level.
The question is, will the leading party be able to fulfill their promise this time or will always keep telling us to bare with them, showing the public the imaginary lights coming up in their way. Special thing about these special lights is that they move further away from you as soon as you move towards them.
Electricity and Phone Line poles distracting Nature
Posted by K. Shahzad in Infrastructure, Pictures on September 21st, 2009
The concept of having the underground lining and underground piping really rocks. In that case you don’t have mess of wires everywhere but unfortunately in Pakistan nothing have been thought about this and all the cities and areas other than Islamabad run on concept of overhead lining for Phone and Electricity.

This mess of over head wires sometimes just mess with nature but other times they are dangerous for lives in areas where they are slightly old. Looking on the traditions of corporations here, most of them would say they can’t do anything about existing infrastructure but my suggestion is that they can at least think of using underground lining concept for infrastructure yet to built. Of-course this post is related to Wapda and PTCL infrastructure.
National Capital or PPP’s Den, Throw the flags out
Posted by K. Shahzad in Happenings, National, Pictures, Politics on August 31st, 2009
Being the national capital Islamabad must have the national flag not the flags of Ruling party but as depicted in picture taken on 31 Aug, 09 in the capital still the Pakistan People Party’s flags are everywhere.

PPP's Flags In Islamabad
If you see in the picture you will see only two Pakistan’s flags but in fact ratio must be inverse. These flags are now here from quite sometime in fact months, even on 14th of Aug, 09 the Nation’s independence day these flags were not removed and very few Pakistani flags were added, as you can see only two the picture shot.
We demand the ruling party to take their most of flags out of the city and replace them with Nation’s flag, and if they like they can have few flags of themselves.
