Another Sudden Change in CNG Load Shedding Schedule in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Rest of Potohar Region

Previously CNG association of Pakistan had changed the CNG Load Shedding schedule in start of September but the have done it again recently. Recently a new schedule of load shedding was announced by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and CNG association of Pakistan for Potohar region which includes the cities Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Wah, Jehlam, Chakwal and all areas around these cities. New CNG Loadshedding Schedule in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Rest of Potohar Region from September 2013

Recently the schedule of CNG Load shedding is changed in Potohar Region of Pakistan, this includes, cities of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Wah, Taxila, Attock, Jehlam, Chakwal, Murree and other adjoining areas around all these cities. Previously the CNG load shedding days were Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Now according to new schedule CNG is NOT being available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. However its again available on four days, Monday to Thursday. This move was made without properly notifying the people, so lots of us were confused about, on which days, CNG is available. CNG Load shedding continues even in off peak season in Pakistan, who is responsible

As winters are long gone and we are well into the summer season. Which means the house hold demand of Natural Gas is at its lowest. On other hand CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) load management plan which was introduced in peak season is still applicable without any change. CNG which is environment friendly and is much cheaper than Petrol (Gasoline) and Diesel, and also is preference of most of vehicle owners in Pakistan. CNG price reduced by 31 Rupees in Pakistan on Supreme Court order

Supreme court ordered that CNG price must be reduced by 30 rupees and 90 paisas. Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) have already followed the Supreme court orders and already issued the notification to reduce the CNG price by 30 rupees and 90 paisas. Also due to Eid-Al-Adha their would be no CNG Load Shedding in Islamabad Region. After reduction of 30 rupees and 90 paisas new price of CNG is set to 61 rupees and 64 paisas. Previously the CNG was being sold at Rs. 92.54 where as per kilogram cost of CNG was less than half of the previous listed price.

CNG Association and Transporters have called the strike off with immidiate effect

CNG Associtation and transporters of Pakistan were on strike from last two days against the CNG Prices hike and unavailability of CNG fuel due to so called load Management plan, which was causing outage of CNG fuel for transporters for half week. Now, negotiation between CNG association/transporters and department of Petroleum and Natural Resources have been successful. In turn the CNG Association and transporters have called the strike off. Prices are CNG are not yet reviewed to make a decrease but public transporters will be given CNG fuel in off days of week as well for 8 hours in a day.
