KSE-100 index falls, economic downturn continues

KSE-1oo index dropped 3.36% and closed at 9247.78 today. Over the past month or two after the security situation became better in the country, 100-index was increasing significantly and lots of foreign investment was coming in seeing the improved security situation. But soon after the security situation in the country worsen again, the foreign investment again not coming in and 100-index fell significantly.
As there were serious attack threats all over the country and all education institutions were closed looking the bad security situation the foreign buyers’ trust jolted. As Pakistani security forces are at decisive war against the militants hiding in South Waziristan, on other hand these militants are targeting the normal public in the country to pressurize the security agencies and make them give-up on war. This situation have affected the economy of country significantly.
Islamic University blasts were of suicide nature

Latest information reveals that the blasts in Islamic University were of suicide nature, as the police and people searching the blast sites have found the heads of the suicide attackers. People at university told that first suicide attacker was trying to enter in women cafeteria but stopped by university officials as that is restricted area for any of males, on stopping the attacker blowed himself killing and injuring many.
Second blast was in a class room and on the site of second blast as well police found the head of the suicide attacker. However its not clear that the suicide attacker was already present in class or came in on time of the blast. As no one at university seen him going in by force.
Islamic University Islamabad blasts update

According to the latest information on Islamic university Islamabad blasts 4 people were died in the attack and 18 were injured. Most of the injured were shifted to the PIMS hospital Islamabad. According the hospital administration four of the injured are in serious condition and other are out of life risk.
Immediate investigations have been started and concerned departments are searching the blast sites for things which can be helpful to reach the criminals. Specially trained dogs are also being used for this purpose. Latest info reveals this is suspected suicide attack.
Blasts in Islamic International University, Islamabad

Islamic International University, Islamabad was hit by two bomb blasts about 40 minutes ago at 3:15pm Oct 20, 09. Two people killed in the blasts and other 13 were seriously injured. The died were both female students and other injured are being shifted to the PIMS hospital Islamabad. As the first blast took place in women cafeteria so most of injured were women. At the moment it is not clear that blasts were executed via individual bombs or some of person bowled him/her up.
There were alerts for collages and universities in these days, as some attacks were being expected so lots of institutions were closed in Rawalpindi and Islamabad and even other cities of the country. But some of Institutions were open including this Islamic University.
South Waziristan operation officially approved

Friday, a meeting held in prime minister house to talk on security situation in the country. Top civil and military commands well as the opposition parties attended this meeting. Finally, most of the opposition parties and other participants agreed to pursue the South Waziristan operation. They all agreed that, taking down the militant leadership hiding in South Waziristan is now only way out to stop the terrorism activities taking place in the country. As all the suicide attacks took place in last two weeks were being financed and backed from the same South Waziristan Area.
As 28000 individuals of Pakistan army were already moved to the area, now the official approval of the operation will come up with more deployments shortly. The exact time when the operation will be launched properly was not disclosed to the media but army seem to have all the arrangements completed already. Chief of Army Staff, Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani had also attended the meeting and briefed all participants about the current situation.
