Pakistan Wins ICC champions trophy match against West Indies
Posted by K. Shahzad in National, Sports on September 24th, 2009
West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. But this decision didn’t proved to be lucky for them and soon their all team was out by just scoring 133 runs. Thanks to Pakistani fast bowlers, fast bowlers Muhammad Aamir and Omer Gul taken 6 wickets collectively. Readers must recall that despite the leading players ended their boycott over contractual deputes last month, still the team was fully unable to do well in batting.
Also in fielding they were not very well and on other hand the 58 runs partnership between Umar Akmal and Shahid Afridi was enough to pave the teams way to convincing victory. Umar Akmal himself scored 41 runs which include six fours. This way Pakistan cricket team achieved the total in just under 31 overs.
First match of Pakistan in ICC champions trophy proved to be well for Pakistan Cricket team and it will give confidence to them to do good in upcoming matches.
Mufti Muneeb tells leader of ANP to stay away and keep quite

Previously the leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Ghulam Ahmed Bilur demanded that the current Ruhat-e-Hilal committee must be dissolved and the chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman must be replaced with the Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan. Bilur also called Muneeb as the product of the Musharraf age. Leader of ANP had issues with the moon sighting by Ruhat-e-Hilal Committee for Ramadan and Eid.
Responding to this Mufti Muneeb told ANP leader to stay away and mind your own business. He added that he had opposed all the un-Islamic actions of Musharraf. Also told that the 95% of Pakistanis followed the Ramdan and Eid according to his decision of moon sighting, so 170 million Pakistanis can’t be wrong.

Closing CNG for three months, are you kidding
Posted by K. Shahzad in Basic Needs, National on September 22nd, 2009
Earlier, this has been proposed by the Federal Government of Pakistan to close the CNG stations for three months. A final decision on this is yet to come but the proposed period starts from 1st Nov, 2009.
What ever happens in this regard but I am sorry to say that Federal Government will have to rethink on their strategies. As we all know that closing down CNG will increase the goods transportation costs to at least five times of what they are currently. So this will definitely speed up the inflation. Currently as government must think of slowing down the on going inflation, they are busy in ideas which will definitely increase it.
Moreover we were hearing the news of shortage of petrol in Peshawar and other areas of country a month ago and also petroleum companies were out of stock in such conditions how could you think of closing down the CNG stations for three months. If decision like this comes from the government, it would be silliest thing ever, that is what we think.
Electricity and Phone Line poles distracting Nature
Posted by K. Shahzad in Infrastructure, Pictures on September 21st, 2009
The concept of having the underground lining and underground piping really rocks. In that case you don’t have mess of wires everywhere but unfortunately in Pakistan nothing have been thought about this and all the cities and areas other than Islamabad run on concept of overhead lining for Phone and Electricity.

This mess of over head wires sometimes just mess with nature but other times they are dangerous for lives in areas where they are slightly old. Looking on the traditions of corporations here, most of them would say they can’t do anything about existing infrastructure but my suggestion is that they can at least think of using underground lining concept for infrastructure yet to built. Of-course this post is related to Wapda and PTCL infrastructure.
